Leni Acosta K.
Similar to a symbolist poet, Leni Acosta K. allows the viewer silence to form their own imaginings and evoke distinct emotions from the subtle images in her artwork.
After withdrawing from a college scholarship for fine arts, Leni worked as a business consultant and extensively traveled the world. Now 35 years later, she returns to her true passion, art. Although she is keen in drawing with graphite, charcoal and colored pencil, she equally enjoys using mixed media including watercolor, acrylic, oil and digital art. Her unique pieces focus more on subjective meanings than on technical style or structured genres.
“The objects and themes I choose to draw or paint reflect my passion for philosophy and poetry. I place subtle layers of abstract yet quiet meanings and deliberate contradicting surface messages in my artwork, allowing the less hurried viewer to spend a discerning moment to conclude that what is felt by seeing it may either be provoking, disagreeable or simply amusing”
While devoting herself as a full-time artist, Leni is equally dedicated to supporting worthwhile humanitarian projects through her art.
