MOVEMENT.

“The completion of a piece allows one to feel the grind, the grain, the movement, and the hand that made it.”

METAL.

Born and raised in Pittsburg, Craig Helmich has spent the last 39 years with his hands deep in the he creative process. For the past 15, Maui has been home and the island’s raw, natural beauty became his quiet muse.

As one of the first tattoo artists in his hometown, Craig built a career on precision and storytelling through skin. But after three decades, he felt the pull to explore something new. That’s when metal found him.

Unlike traditional canvases, metal gave Craig a way to shape art in its most elemental form, carving movement and dimension directly into the surface. He doesn’t rely on paint to bring an image to life. Instead, texture, shadow, and contrast do the work. The result is bold, sculptural, and deeply organic. No two pieces are ever the same.

Now splitting his time between Pittsburgh and Maui, Craig moves between two worlds, letting the contrast fuel fresh ideas and unexpected directions.
